Anna Garza and Jessica Garza killed in fatal car accident in Lowell Township

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office has officially released the identities of the two women who tragically lost their lives in a devastating head-on collision on Wednesday night near Alden Nash Avenue and Emery Drive in Lowell Township.

The collision occurred when a woman crossed the center line, resulting in the fatalities of Anna Garza, 42, and Jessica Garza, 39, who were sisters. The two women were pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.

Heartbreakingly, Anna’s children, aged four and eleven, who were seated in the back at the time of the crash, sustained severe injuries and were hospitalized. As of Thursday’s update from deputies, both boys are in stable condition.

Additionally, a 20-year-old woman from Greenville suffered grave injuries in the collision but was discharged from the hospital on Thursday afternoon. Another woman, aged 36 and from Lowell Township, remains in stable condition following the latest evaluation, despite sustaining injuries in the accident.

Details regarding the circumstances leading to the collision are still under investigation by authorities.

The family plans to release obituary details and funeral arrangements for Anna Garza and Jessica Garza at a later date, allowing for time and privacy during this difficult period.
