Aiden Lutz, a 15-year-old from Butler, Pennsylvania, sustained severe injuries in a tragic bicycle-car accident on Thursday afternoon in Butler Township. Emergency services were alerted from the 100 block of Dutchtown Road, near Sugar Creek Drive, where Lutz was found incapacitated and unresponsive on the road.
Butler Township responders swiftly attended to the scene, ensuring Lutz was carefully transported to Allegheny General Hospital via a Life Flight helicopter, which had been summoned by the hospital staff and had landed at Butler Memorial Hospital.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 38-year-old Joshua Rivera, was reportedly responsible for the collision and fled the scene. Authorities have filed several charges against Rivera, including aggravated assault by motor vehicle and reckless driving. Law enforcement has appealed to the public for any information regarding Rivera’s whereabouts and urges anyone with relevant details to contact the Butler Township police immediately.
