Eddie White, a member of the DLS community, fondly reminisced about Coach Steve, describing him as a rare blend of kindness and firmness. “He effortlessly gave me the impression I was cared about. It was a gift. He always had a smile, and you got the feeling he was happy to see whoever he encountered,” White recalled.
