Where was Danelo Cavalcante last seen? Manhunt Underway for Escaped Convicted Murderer

A manhunt is in full swing for Danelo Cavalcante, an escaped and highly dangerous convicted murderer, who managed to break free from Pennsylvania’s Chester County Prison on Thursday, August 31. Cavalcante, who had been sentenced to life in prison on August 16 for the brutal murder of his girlfriend, Deborah Brandao, was awaiting transfer to a state facility when he made his daring escape at approximately 8:50 a.m.

The 34-year-old fugitive was last spotted around 9:40 a.m. walking southbound on South Wawaset Road in Pocopson Township, donning a white T-shirt and gray shorts.

District Attorney Deb Ryan has issued a stern warning to the public, emphasizing that Danelo Cavalcante is an extremely dangerous individual who should not be approached. Ryan noted that the suspect possesses a knack for eluding law enforcement and would go to great lengths to evade capture.

To aid in the search, the U.S. Marshals have offered a reward of $5,000 for any information that leads to the apprehension of the escaped inmate. Chester County Government, via social media, has assured the community that law enforcement is actively scouring the neighborhood for the suspect and urged residents to contact 911 immediately if they spot him.

In a press conference, DA Deb Ryan expressed concerns that the fugitive may have assistance from friends and family, as he was aided by others in 2021 following the fatal stabbing of his girlfriend.

Cavalcante was convicted of first-degree murder for the 2021 killing of Deborah Brandao in the Phoenixville area. Reports suggest that the victim had endured domestic violence in the months leading up to her murder.

During the press conference, Ryan chillingly revealed that Cavalcante had stabbed the victim 38 times in broad daylight, with her young children as witnesses. After the gruesome act, the suspect fled the scene but was later apprehended in Virginia, with assistance from family and friends. Detectives were able to track him via a ping order and recovered the murder weapon.
