The incident, occurring near the intersection with Highway 241 on Interstate 94, unfolded before 5 o’clock in the afternoon when a semi-truck experienced two tire blowouts, one of which collided with a Nissan Rogue traveling in the opposite direction. Viengkhone Nguyen, 44, from Brooklyn Park, the driver of the Rogue, and Lea Khamphachanh, 43, a resident of St. Cloud and a passenger in the Rogue, succumbed to their injuries as a result of the collision.

According to MSP officials, the collision involved a 36-year-old Said Mohamed of Pelican Rapids and a Chevy Silverado pickup truck driven by a 23-year-old male from Albany. Both Mohamed and his 69-year-old passenger, Abdalla Gudad of Grand Island, Nebraska, tragically perished in the collision, while another passenger, Adan Hosh, 48, of Pelican Rapids, sustained severe injuries and was treated at CentraCare – St. Cloud Hospital.
