Bernie Cordell posted on Facebook,

“When I was 12 years old is when I started watching this man race. I have cheered for Tandy Marlin anytime he has been on the race track. If I wasn’t there I always got a report of how he did. When I was sitting up in the stands thinking how cool it would be to meet him, I had no idea at that time he would come to be such a good friend to my brothers and I.“I can’t tell you how many times he has made me laugh so hard to where I just can’t laugh anymore. I had the opportunities of getting to hang out at his race shop. What!? Are you kidding me? I get to go to Tandy Marlins race shop. That’s what I felt the first time I got invited over there. Some of my most memorable conversations with Tandy is when him and I were one on one.“I would go by his farm to pick up firewood. We would stand around the bed of the truck and talk racing and we would try to solve all the problems of the world and the racing world until it got dark. We would rap it up and I would ask him what do I owe and I can hear him say it now “you don’t owe me nothing” This was a good man and he will be missed tremendously. Thoughts and prayers will go out to the family and friends.RIP Tandy Marlin”
