In a devastating incident on Tuesday evening, North Philadelphia was shaken by a shooting that resulted in the tragic deaths of two individuals and left five others injured. The incident unfolded after 8:30 p.m. in the Fairhill neighborhood, specifically in the 3200 block of North Fairhill Street, near Allegheny Avenue, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.

Officers, responding to a report of a shooting on the highway, discovered a chaotic scene upon arrival. Preliminary investigations revealed that a staggering seventy rounds had been fired. Seven males, aged between 19 and 38 years old, were confirmed to have been struck by gunfire and were swiftly transported to the hospital.

The victims, identified in the investigation, include a 30-year-old, a 33-year-old, a 34-year-old, and a 19-year-old, all in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds. Tragically, Roger Marquez, 31, and Leon Pierre, 38, succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.

Police Commissioner John Stanford, currently serving in an interim capacity, reported the discovery of numerous firearms at the scene. Additionally, narcotics were found, although the motive behind the shooting remains under investigation. The injured victims’ names were not released at this time.
