Retired inspector and firefighter Jeff Mack from Fredericton dies suddenly: obituary

Fredericton, NC –  Fredericton is in mourning following the passing of Jeff Mack, a revered retired Inspector associated with the Fredericton Fire Department. His departure was announced by the Fredericton Fire Fighters’ Association, expressing deep sorrow at the loss of a cherished member of the firefighting community.

Born in Montreal, Quebec, Jeff Mack found his home and purpose in Fredericton Junction under the care of his uncle and aunt, Francis and Norma Alexander. After attending classes in Oromocto’s Fredericton Junction, he began his remarkable journey as a firefighter, serving with dedication in various departments including CFB Gagetown and Oromocto.

Mack’s career was marked by commendations and accolades, but his most profound impact lay in his advocacy work. He took immense pride in collaborating with first responders to raise awareness about addiction and PTSD, underscoring his commitment to supporting fellow firefighters’ mental health.

Outside of his professional life, Mack was an enthusiast of the outdoors, spending cherished moments on his four-wheeler. He indulged in interests like curling, harboring a keen fascination for aviation and World War II history. Among his notable habits was an affection for McCain’s frozen lasagna, a detail that characterized his unique persona.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication, survived by his children Brennan and Eric Mack, whom he adored. His children’s mothers, Lorena and Sandy respectively, along with siblings Danae Mack, Karen Duncan, Steven Alexander, and James Alexander, mourn the loss of a dear family member.

A visitation to honor Jeff Mack’s life will take place at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Friday, December 1st, 2023, from 6 – 8 pm. A celebration of his life will follow at the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023, at 11 am. His final resting place will be at the Gladstone Cemetery.
