Kaylee Jo Young, aged 13, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She was born on April 20, 2010, in Bowling Green, to her loving parents, Patrick and Stephanie (Johnson) Young.

Left to cherish her memory are her parents from Smiths Grove, KY; maternal grandparents, Kristin (Mimi) and Detlef (Papa) Petersen; paternal grandparents, Mark (Papaw) and Michelle (Mamaw) Young; paternal great-grandmother, Faye Honeycutt; aunts and uncles, Marisa and Nick Swanson, Jenna and Nate Heisler, and Christopher Young; a special friend, Ashley Spain-Howard (Brad); and several cousins, great aunts, and uncles. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, R.D. and Kay Johnson, and Harold and Edna Young.

Kaylee was an eighth-grader at Warren East Middle School, where her passion for volleyball shone through as she participated on school and club teams for several years. She possessed a remarkable artistic talent and had a beautiful singing voice that matched her sweet and loving personality.

Kaylee was a blessing to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a unique gift for making those around her feel like the most important person in the room. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 3, at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial at Smiths Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
