Paul Craig from La Crosse killed in car accident near Viola

La Crosse, WI – Tragedy struck on Sunday night, December 3, 2023, near Viola, as a fatal car accident claimed the life of 43-year-old Paul Craig, an Onalaska resident. Craig succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash that occurred on State Highway 56 eastbound, close to Sportsman Road.

Paul Craig was traveling in a pickup truck when the vehicle veered off the eastbound lane of State Highway 56, ultimately leading to the fatal accident. Tragically, Craig was trapped inside the vehicle, and despite the efforts of law enforcement, he was discovered deceased at the scene.

The family of Paul Craig has not yet released details regarding funeral arrangements or an official obituary.

In a related story, an incident in Chippewa County involving a Wisconsin State Patrol cruiser resulted in a fatality. At 1:23 a.m. early Friday morning, a pursuit initiated by a Dunn County Sheriff’s deputy extended into Chippewa County.
