Law enforcement agencies in Naples, Florida, have officially ended the lockdown at Naples High School following a reported shooting threat that has been confirmed as unfounded. The Naples Police Department, in collaboration with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, swiftly responded to the school premises upon receiving an alert via social media from the Naples Police Department.
The response triggered the closure of westbound Golden Gate Parkway, redirecting traffic on Goodlette Road either north or south. Simultaneously, eastbound traffic on Golden Gate Parkway, heading towards United States Route 41, underwent necessary rerouting measures.
Law enforcement, including the Naples Police Department and the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, continue their thorough investigation at Naples High School. Although initial reports hinted at a potential active shooter situation, these reports are yet to be confirmed.
As a precaution, commuters are strongly advised to seek alternative routes. Westbound traffic on Golden Gate Parkway remains redirected to Goodlette Road, and commuters heading eastbound on US 41 are encouraged to explore alternative paths north or south toward Golden Gate Parkway.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., the Naples Police Department received a call indicating a shooting at Naples High School. Immediate responses from both the Naples Police Department and the Collier County Sheriff’s Office led to the lockdown of the high school as a precautionary measure.

“A call reporting a shooting at Naples High School this afternoon has been determined to be a hoax.At 1:38 p.m. today dispatchers with the Naples Police Department received a call on the agency’s administrative line indicating that there had been a shooting at Naples High School. NPD and CCSO responded immediately and Collier County Public Schools put the school in lock-down. Law enforcement officers with both agencies conducted a thorough search of the campus and determined that there had been no shooting and everyone was safe. At this time the campus is clear and deputies and officers are assisting with clearing the lockdown.”

Authorities from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office have labeled the incident a “hoax.” Upon responding to 911 calls reporting the possible shooting, law enforcement conducted a comprehensive search, reassuring that no shooting transpired, and everyone is safe.
