Joseph Plante, of Masonic Home Road, tragically passes away at age of 28

The community of Masonic Home Road is grieving the loss of Joseph Plante, who passed away on October 23, 2023. Born in Worcester, Joseph had been a cherished resident of Charlton for 28 years. After graduating from St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury in 2013, he continued his education at Florida Atlantic University and the Professional Golf College, where he pursued his passion for golf.

Joseph Plante was a well-known figure in the area, having worked as the manager of the pro shop and a teaching professional at the Heritage Country Club. He also held the esteemed position of Director of Golf at the Quaboag Country Club in Monson, Massachusetts. His love for his boxer, Dutchess, as well as his hobbies of music, hiking, camping, and golf, were widely recognized by those close to him.

Recognized for his warmth, generosity, and affectionate bear hugs, Joseph was cherished by many in the community. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 4 to 8 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Charlton, followed by a funeral Mass on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 10 a.m. The church is located at 10 H. Putnam Rd. Ext., and he will be laid to rest in Charlton’s West Ridge Cemetery.

In honor of Joseph Plante, memorial tributes can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Flowers and other tributes can be presented to the Plante family through the florist shop, expressing condolences and solidarity during this difficult time. The arrangements have been entrusted to the caring hands of the Oxford funeral home of Paradis-Givner, as the community comes together to remember the life and legacy of Joseph Plante.
