Chicago, IL – The Chicago International Charter School (CICS Bucktown) community is mourning the loss of one of its beloved educators, Jaida Rosado, following a devastating car accident on DuSable Lake Shore Drive in South Side Chicago on Monday night. Reports have confirmed that Jaida Rosado, along with Jalean Gibbs, was among the victims of the tragic incident that occurred in the 3000-block of DuSable Lake Shore Drive at approximately 8:48 P.M.
The accident involved a Nissan sedan traveling south on DuSable Lake Shore Drive at the time of the collision with a Chevrolet sedan that was in the process of changing lanes. The impact caused the Nissan to lose control and collide with a tree, resulting in a fatal outcome for Jaida Rosado and Jalean Gibbs, who were both passengers in the Nissan.
The male driver of the Nissan and another female passenger were rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead. Two other female passengers, both 21 years old, sustained severe injuries and were transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for immediate medical attention.
Meanwhile, the male driver of the Chevrolet and his female passenger were taken to Stroger Hospital in fair condition. The Chicago Police Department’s Major Accidents Unit is currently investigating the details surrounding the tragic crash, seeking to shed light on the circumstances leading to the devastating accident on DuSable Lake Shore Drive. The entire community is coming together to honor the memory of Jaida Rosado, a respected and cherished educator at CICS Bucktown, whose impact on the lives of her students and colleagues will never be forgotten.
