Gavin Park, Maryland Heights former councilman, dies in car crash

The tragic death of former Maryland Heights city councilman Gavin Park occurred on Tuesday in a collision involving a Metro Call-A-Ride van and the truck he was operating. Park, 43, served as councilman for Ward 1 from 2016 to 2020.

The collision took place at around 3 p.m. at the intersection of Missouri Route 141 and River Valley Drive. According to Metro Transit, the Call-A-Ride van involved in the incident was not carrying any passengers at the time. The van’s driver was taken to a hospital for assessment, while the police have yet to disclose further details regarding the collision’s cause.
