HousePaws Mobile Veterinary Service posted on Facebook,

“It is with great sadness we share that we have lost an honorary HousePaws team member. Oscar Mayer was the longtime boyfriend of one of our techs. One of the kindest and most compassionate people I have ever known. I honestly never ever heard him speak ill of a single person. He was just pure light.“He did not work in the animal field, but being the humanitarian he was, he traveled with us on missions and worked just as hard as anyone on our team. He made sure animals were properly prepped for surgery sometimes, other times he helped wake them up and make sure they were safe post op.“Oscar worked with us in honor of Kaitlyn during Kaitlyn’s mission, our yearly local spay/ neuter mission where we help feral cats in honor of another young person taken to soon. He worked with us to help serve the people and pets of Trenton. Oscar took personal time from work, to work with us in Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Suriname. Mission work is 10 times harder than any normal work day and that smile he had …he wore it all day not just for pictures.“Our veterinary friends from Mexico dubbed him Captain America on missions and that’s because he really was that amazing- superhero quality. Rest in peace Oscar, we miss you. Please be patient with us, as one day soon, we will need to be shorthanded to honor this great man.”
