Loxley Pastor arrested: Child pornography possession, investigation uncovers disturbing material

Loxley pastor Allan Kyle Jones was apprehended on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, on charges of possessing explicit content involving minors on his mobile device. The arrest took place after a tip reached law enforcement officials, revealing that the pastor had been downloading inappropriate materials. Following the tip, a thorough investigation ensued, culminating in Jones’ incarceration at the Baldwin County Corrections Center.

The 48-year-old pastor now faces multiple counts related to child pornography, specifically four charges of possessing explicit content depicting individuals under 17 years of age. Authorities emphasize that further charges could be levied pending a comprehensive examination of all his electronic devices.

The arrest unfolded after weeks of inquiry into Jones’ activities. FOX10 News reported that a company monitoring online illicit activities had provided the initial tip, suspecting the pastor’s involvement in the distribution of inappropriate content involving minors.

Subsequently, authorities secured a warrant to inspect Jones’ mobile phone, where they discovered the disturbing content in question. The initial tip proved substantial enough to prompt the issuance of the warrant, which ultimately led to Jones’ arrest. Authorities clarified that none of the minors featured in the illegal material were from the local area.

Jones’ LinkedIn profile reveals his educational background at the Baptist College of Florida and his pastoral role at Lifeway Community Church in Loxley since 2015. Records indicate that his address matches that of the church’s location at 16373 Thompson Road in Loxley.

Following his arrest, the pastor was granted release on a $60,000 bond just hours after being taken into custody. The bond was posted at $15,000 for each of the four counts related to child pornography possession.

According to U.S. federal law, child pornography constitutes a form of child sexual exploitation, encompassing any visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct involving minors under 18 years old. Attorney General Eric Holder Jr. underscored the gravity of the issue, stating, “Unfortunately, we’ve also seen a historic rise in the distribution of child pornography, in the number of images being shared online, and in the level of violence associated with child exploitation and sexual abuse crimes. Tragically, the only place we’ve seen a decrease is in the age of victims. This is – quite simply – unacceptable.” This statement was made during the National Strategy Conference on Combating Child Exploitation in San Jose, California, on May 19, 2011.
