Kaysville, Utah – Davis High School student Cruz Rushton, a 17-year-old from Kaysville, Utah, was tragically injured in a pedestrian-car accident on October 17, 2023. The incident occurred at approximately 8:45 PM in the vicinity of 550 East 300 South.
News of the accident spread through a heartfelt Facebook post that read, “Please keep @cruz_rushton_ in your prayers. He was running across the street behind Davis. Hi in front of Mountain high and was struck by a car at 8:45 PM.”
Promptly, the Kaysville Police and Kaysville Fire Department responded to reports of a pedestrian accident. Cruz Rushton was discovered in the roadway upon their arrival. He received immediate medical attention and was swiftly transported to the University of Utah Trauma Center via Utah AirMed helicopter. Currently, Cruz is in critical but stable condition, bravely battling severe head injuries. Witnesses recounted that Cruz had darted into the roadway abruptly, a location not designated for crossing.
