Chad Hinckley, Former Sterling DPW employee, dies of suicide: obituary

Lancaster, MA – The town of Lancaster, Massachusetts, is grappling with the tragic loss of a beloved member of their community, Chad Daniel Hinckley. The 21-year-old Nashoba Regional High School graduate passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023, leaving behind a profound sense of grief among his family, friends, and peers.

Chad Hinckley’s untimely demise was announced through a heartfelt social media post that expressed the deep sorrow felt by those who knew him best. While the circumstances surrounding his passing remain undisclosed, his vibrant life and impact on those around him have not gone unnoticed.

Born on May 17, 2002, to Daniel J. Hinckley, Jr. and Robin (Schartner) Hinckley, Chad was a cherished member of the Lancaster community. His high school years were marked by enduring friendships and a passion for sports, particularly football, where he excelled as a varsity player at Nashoba Regional High School.

After graduation, Chad pursued his education at Mississippi State University, where he contributed to the football team as an equipment staff member. He held various jobs, including positions at Sterling DPW, Berlin Country Club, Cyprian Keyes Golf Course, and most recently, as a caretaker at Gemini Dogs in Littleton. Fond of the outdoors, Chad found joy in activities such as fishing, golfing, and spending time with his dogs.

Known for his competitive spirit and unwavering determination, Chad was also recognized for his infectious energy and ability to see the best in others. He shared a close bond with his siblings, Gina Hinckley and Derek Hinckley, as well as his step-siblings, Kamryn Mills and Revson Mills.

The community is invited to pay their respects at the calling hours scheduled from 9 to 11 AM on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home in Clinton, Massachusetts. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 AM at Eastwood Cemetery in Lancaster. In memory of Chad Hinckley, the family has requested donations to Samaritans, Inc., to support their valuable work.
