Red Creek, New York – Bruce S. Crandall, a proud military veteran and a cherished member of the Red Creek community, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023, at the age of 51 in the comfort of his home. Born in Auburn on March 11, 1972, Bruce was a dedicated individual who served his nation during Desert Storm as a member of the United States Army.
Beyond his military service, Bruce was an avid outdoorsman, finding solace in the serene moments spent hunting and fishing. A die-hard Buffalo Bills fan, he passionately cheered for his team and found joy in their victories. He cherished the companionship of his loyal dog, Richard, and feline friend, Dani, bringing warmth and love into his life.
Bruce is preceded in death by his father, Ora Crandall Jr., as well as his brothers, David Crandall and Jeffrey Burnett. He is survived by his sons, Aidan Crandall and Mason Crandall, both residing in Cato. He is also survived by his brothers, Jason Burnett and Dan Crandall, and leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and numerous friends who will always remember him fondly.

A time to honor and remember Bruce will be held during calling hours on Friday, September 29, from 4:00-6:00 at the Keysor-Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home in Cato. A private burial with military honors will take place at Meridian Cemetery. A celebration of Bruce’s life will follow on Saturday, September 30, from 12:00-4:00 at the Labuff Cole Legion Post 911 in Cato.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Bruce’s memory to the Bruce Crandall Memorial Scholarship Fund. Those wishing to contribute may do so through the Community Bank at 2516 W Main St, Cato, NY 13033. The fund is a meaningful way to honor Bruce’s legacy and support educational endeavors in his name.
