Brian Helmers, St. Cloud Technical College alumnus, dies unexpectedly: obituary

Dunnell, MN – The community of Dunnell, Minnesota, is grieving the loss of Brian Helmers, a cherished individual known for his vibrant personality, dedication to his work, and passion for sports. Brian’s passing on November 2nd, 2023, at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has left family and friends in deep sorrow, as they come together to honor his memory and celebrate the impact he had on their lives.

Born on May 5, 1986, in Fairmont, Minnesota, Brian Lee Helmers was the pride and joy of his parents, Gary and Sharon Helmers. A graduate of Martin County West Schools, Brian continued his education at St. Cloud Technical College, where he developed his skills and prepared for his career in the professional world.

Joining Pioneer Hi Bred International in 2006 as a dedicated lab coordinator, Brian established himself as a respected and committed member of the team. His passion for sports, particularly golf and dirt track racing, brought joy and excitement to his life, fostering lasting friendships with fellow enthusiasts who shared his love for these activities.

“The world is a little darker today without you in it, Brian Helmers. I’m incredibly thankful for all the memories we’ve made and how close our Helmers family has always been.You made everything more fun with your quick wit and sense of humor. All the years racing karts, going to the races anywhere possible and racing RC cars at our little track in Dunnell will always be some of my favorite memories.I’ll miss the hell out of you. Give my mom a big hug from me. I know she’s welcoming you into Heaven with Grandpa Bob, Grandma Leanna, Uncle Doug, Roundy and the rest of our loved ones already up there. Rest easy, Zoot Suit!”

Brian Helmers is survived by his father, Gary Helmers, and Denise Hoffman, as well as his mother, Sharon Moeller. He is remembered with love by his relatives, friends, and his beloved dog, Scoop. His passing is mourned by the community, leaving behind cherished memories and a deep void that will not be easily filled.

A Service of Remembrance for Brian L. Helmers is scheduled to take place at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dunnell, Minnesota, followed by burial at Lake Fremont Cemetery in Dunnell. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dunnell, offering an opportunity for friends and family to pay their respects and honor Brian’s life and contributions to the community.
