Brian Almanza, 28-year-old El Paso man, found dead by police in Lower Valley apartment

In a tragic and concerning turn of events, the El Paso Police Department has identified the individual found dead at an apartment complex in El Paso’s Lower Valley on Tuesday, September 12. The victim is Brian Valentin Almanza, a 28-year-old man.

Authorities were alerted to the incident when a concerned individual placed a 911 call regarding a damaged apartment door at the San Montego Apartment complex on 9133 Kernel Circle around 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Responding to the call, the police found Brian Valentin Almanza still inside the residence.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that a concerned individual had gone to check on Almanza when he failed to respond to calls or texts. Upon reaching the residence, Almanza was discovered, prompting the immediate dialing of 911 for assistance.

The El Paso Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit has taken charge of the investigation into this apparent homicide. However, as of now, no arrests have been made, and there are no identified suspects. Police are actively seeking information from the community to aid in this ongoing investigation.

This marks the 22nd homicide of the year in El Paso, a significant increase compared to the same period last year when there were 17 reported cases. The community is urged to cooperate and provide any information that might shed light on this tragic event.
