Amber Alert issued for Journey Pennywell inside stolen car at Newark

Newark, Delaware – The New Castle County Police issued a critical Amber Alert on Wednesday night, urgently seeking assistance in locating a stolen vehicle that was taken with a child on board. Responding to a report received at 5:30 p.m. from the 7/11 located at 60 S. Gerald Drive, officers discovered that a silver Nissan Altima, bearing Delaware registration 562644, had been stolen, and inside was 1-year-old Journey Pennywell.

The stolen vehicle, identified by rear passenger door damage, was last seen heading towards the intersection of 273 and 95. According to the issued alert, the car was taken by a Black man dressed in a gray hoodie, black jacket, and camo pants. The suspect swiftly drove away with the child in the back seat.

Journey Pennywell is described as a one-year-old wearing a pink Nike jacket, purple and black pants, black boots, and her hair styled in ponytails. The urgency of the situation requires the community’s immediate attention to help reunite Journey with her family.

The New Castle County Police are urging anyone with information or who may have seen the stolen silver Nissan Altima with Delaware registration 562644 to contact authorities promptly.
