The man is somewhat humorous and nerdy at the same time. But despite being conveyed through humorous gestures, his message is actually very genuine.

The creator of that video is Victor, but he prefers to use the name Wilbur, the favorite figure of the cyclist community he’s recently made famous.
“I am not polluting, I am writing poetry on the go,” says Wilbur.
Wilbur doesn’t stop rolling out funny gems in the video wearing a duffel bib jumpsuit that reveals her pigeon breasts, large orange goggles, long pants, knee pads, and cyclist boots.
This number quickly attracted the attention of many bikers with sentences like “I am not polluting, I am writing poetry on the road”, “my heart is made of gasoline”, “With this, I wade across the lake and I am a whore”.
To find out how this video was made and, incidentally, to understand why it became so popular, we decided to contact the creator of this character, who also happens to be the person who created the character. When we picked up the phone, Wilbur answered right away, but his voice was deeper and… more human.
Gratitude for visiting us, Victor or Wilbur? Would you like it if we called you by that name?
(Laughs) My stage name is Better Wilbur. My real name is Victor, but only a select few, including relatives, know about it.
The speed at which a video can travel through the network is astounding. Why did you decide to record it?
I know audio recordings are increasingly popular in the cyclist community. Although Wilbur’s character, who’s been around for a while, isn’t sure if he still wants to do that after all that’s happening, he talks about the Africa Twin you’ve seen since a friend asked me to produce a movie about the bike before selling it. He could have a pleasant memory of her this way.
When and where did you publish it to make it so popular? How long did it take you to record it?
I directed my friend to ride a motorbike here because I live in the mountains of Madrid. In half an hour, we captured everything we could in a shot that I later had to edit. Then I uploaded it to my YouTube channel after first posting it on Facebook. When I put it on, I didn’t know it would go beyond what I thought it would.
I can send them to festivals thanks to the footage I have on my channel and then they can hire me. But in this case, it spread like wildfire without purpose. In fact, I considered providing my friend’s contact information in case he could sell the bike first. It’s good that I decided not to do it because I would have to stuff my phone into Mordor.
Be honest with us. Do you really ride a bike or do you just act like Wilbur?
What I say in the video is correct and I do not own a motorcycle license. I don’t ride a motorbike. Since I grew up with a GTR with heavily modified gears, I know how to drive them. My siblings own a VFR. But in the sense that I don’t ride a motorcycle, I’m not a cyclist. I have motivation and love for motorcycles.
In other words, you didn’t study what you said in the video; rather, they are things you already know.
(laughs) Everything else in the video is natural and unscripted, except for the words “overlander” and “wading”. I am not a cyclist, but I am familiar with the world. I was born and raised in Alicante, although I currently reside in Madrid. I often go to Cheste to see Valentino Rossi win MotoGP. I like the overall theme, then. Nearly everyone is familiar with the terms “fuel supply,” “heart,” and “carburetor,” but cyclists really live by them.
Okay, but Wilbur’s personality doesn’t usually dress like a cyclist. Are the clothes you are wearing in the photo yours or borrowed?
The vest, the knee pads, the tent, the map and even the orange glasses used to see better at night (he wears night goggles) that I didn’t know existed were all provided to me by my friend for the record.
Why did you choose to name the video Queen of the Road?
It was intended as a joke. I included the song in the karaoke version of Roger Miller’s King of the Road after I finished the video, and it made me laugh calling him Queen of the Road. Actually, I applied it in a hurry. He entered my mind, it made me laugh, so I said it. That’s how I throw my two cents, because that’s the subject of women leadership.
Have you observed any changes in the short time your movie has been circulating online? For example, do you have more work calls?
They called me a few times because of the video, that’s for sure. Because they are still considering doing a miniseries with Wilbur, I had an interview with a television special agent this week. There will definitely be more videos from me, though I can’t say when as I’m currently working on several projects. I was having a lot of problems and the sudden success of the video caught me off guard. There are ways to make it more professional and define its potential.
In addition to us, have you also been attracted to the world of motorcycles?
Well, I recently did an interview for a show about motorcycles. Chicho Lorenzo, Jorge Lorenzo’s father, even called me to ask if he could post my movie on his YouTube account as well as any other media sources.
And if you could profit from this endeavor, how would you do it? Will you stick with the motorcycle theme or will you broaden your horizons?
I want the focus of the upcoming videos to be on Wilbur cyclists because the subject matter is so broad. What happens to the character after that is another factor. Everything happened to him because he was a tourist, but it all started with him riding his motorcycle on an adventure. It’s just an idea right now, so I need to figure out exactly what to do.
I’m not sure how to do it—whether on YouTube or through another channel. I still do not know. At least on YouTube, I’ll move gently and have decent lyrics. Wilbur’s exploits could be used in a few chapters, but for now, nothing is certain.
We looked at your site for a bit and were amazed at your physical prowess. You are athletic and acrobatic without a doubt. What is your current background and occupation?
When I was young, I started doing artistic exercises on bars and hoops. My parents signed me up when I was 5 years old, and by the time I was 22, I was competing at a very high level. I had to stop because of an injury. I started working in theatrical and circus performances when I befriended a man in the circus. I started doing stunts mostly.
I also spent some time in Cirque du Soleil because after completing the competition I had a high level of acrobatic ability. Then I left it and rode alone. I moved to Madrid and set up a business with a friend.
When and how did you come up with the idea of Wilbur during that time?
(Breathe deeply) Wilbur is the sum total of everything I’ve been through in my entire life. I was born in 1981 and **I love Stallone movies, Van Damme movies, ‘The Bicicletas’ and other 80’s movies. Also, I’m a big fan of comedians like Jim Carrey.
I’ve been developing the character over the years, and now it’s developing at its best and most amazing. It took me nine years to find the right way to express Wilbur. He is my alternate self; I’m talking uncensored.
How much did you practice as you got older to continue performing your shows? You can clearly observe how well you do the squat in the video.
I keep myself in shape and maintain myself. I’m not a big madman either. Before I go to bed, I try to finish all of my workouts, including stapling, Olympics, push-ups, pull-ups, and some flexibility.
What are you working on and where?
The shows I am performing now are “Cielo Santo Cabaret” and “Clandestino Cabaret” at the Bankia Principe Po Theater in Madrid. I played Wilbur in both, but I also played Cupid and the “Guardian of Manliness”. I also run my own action called “Think of Wilbur” around cities and towns. Making chilled vulva takes an hour.
