Throughout his childhood, John played the saxophone and clarinet, and in high school, he and his friends formed a band called NUDLES. He attended Holy Cross School, Francis T. Nicholls High School, and finally Fredrick Douglass Senior High School, where he discovered his acting talent during his senior year.
