Law enforcement authorities have launched a massive manhunt for Jason Dean Billingsley, a 32-year-old with a history of criminal offenses, in connection with the murder of 26-year-old Baltimore tech CEO Pava LaPere. LaPere was found dead from suspected blunt force trauma in her Baltimore apartment on West Franklin Street.
The investigation has identified Billingsley as the prime suspect, wanted for first-degree murder, assault, reckless endangerment, and additional charges. Officials have issued a public warning, urging residents to remain vigilant as Billingsley is considered armed and dangerous, with a past conviction for sexual assault.

The suspect, who had been arrested in 2009, 2011, and 2013 for various charges, including sexual assault, was inexplicably released from prison in October 2022, prompting concerns over public safety. Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott expressed frustration over the suspect’s release and emphasized the importance of holding individuals accountable for their actions.
