Will Zalatoris feels he would not have become a professional golfer, much alone a champion, without the support of his parents. His father introduced him to golf, and his mother instilled in him the competitive urge to succeed. Will Zalatoris is a quiet person who doesn’t say much and keeps it low-key on social media. On the course, however, he lets it rip, displaying his fixation with winning. Furthermore, he has said that he inherited this mindset from his parents. William Patrick Zalatoris is a professional golfer from San Francisco, California, who is 27 years old. He participates on the PGA Tour as well as other major tours.
Zalatoris was raised in Dallas and attended Trinity Christian Academy, where he won the US Junior Amateur Championship. He continued his education at Wake Forest University. Will’s abilities have gotten him a lot of attention, and he was named ACC Player of the Year in 2017. He rose through the ranks, garnering honors such as First Team GCCA All-American, Nicklaus Award finalist, and Hogan Award semifinalist.
Will also competed in every available event and represented the United States in the Walker Cup among renowned players such as Collin Morikawa. Zalatoris is now performing at his peak. He has one PGA Tour and one Korn Ferry Tour victory.
Will Zalatoris’ Parents: Richard and Catherine Zalatoris
The professional golfer’s parents choose to keep their details private. We do, however, have some anecdotes about them. Will’s father, Richard Zalatoris, worked in retail for over 35 years and was a pilot like his grandparents and uncles. In addition, he enjoyed golf and taught it to his son. Richard has played at Augusta Nationals and the California Golf Club. He brought Will to training when he was just seven years old and taught him the foundations of golf.
Unlike other trainer fathers, he never forced Will to adopt a certain playing style. Rather, he did not attend his son’s golf lessons and instead allowed him to grow on his own. “I never felt that overbearing presence that so many kids might feel,” Will told me. Catherine, Will’s mother, was an athlete in her day, much like her son. She raced 400 and 800-meter sprints in Oregon. As a result, she acquired a competitive attitude, which she passed on to her kid. She also brought her son to the gym as a child so he could compete against other youngsters. Even though she does not play golf, she is a resident of Bend, Oregon, a Pacific Northwest golf hotspot. “She always told me: don’t force anything early,” Will recalled of his mother.
