Vidor man Nathan Reid found dead in tragic Neches River accident

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office confirmed a heart-wrenching discovery—the body of Nathan Reid was found in the Neches River after he was reported missing on Friday afternoon. His vehicle, a Ford F-150 pickup truck, was discovered submerged in the river, leading to a devastating conclusion for Nathan’s friends and family.

Nathan Reid, a 32-year-old Vidor, Texas resident, tragically lost his life in an accident near Loving Drive on 4 Oaks Ranch Road. The incident involved his pickup truck failing to navigate a curve, colliding with an embankment, and ending up in the Neches River.

The missing person report for Reid was filed when he didn’t arrive for work, prompting an extensive search. Authorities confirmed his identity after responding to reports of a submerged vehicle, later confirming his demise at the scene.

Captain Joey Jacobs from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office shared that investigations suggested Reid’s vehicle lost control on a curve, leading to the collision and subsequent immersion in the river.
