Umo Eno was born on May 10, 1964. His origin is Ikot Ekpene in the Eastern Region of Nigeria. (now in Akwa Ibom state). In a recent conversation with “The Guardian,” he stated that he spent his youth in the Police Barracks. Since his father was a policeman, he grew up as a confident child in the Police Barracks. His flourishing career began in 1982, when he started working as a qualified officer at Union Bank of Nigeria. From 1985 to 1990, he also worked for Bertola Machine Tools before joining Norman Holdings Limited from 1990 to 1997. At Norman Holdings Limited, Umo Eno held the position of Group General Manager (GGM).
In addition, from 2004 to 2007, he served as Chairman of the Akwa Ibom Hotel and Tourism Board. His outstanding work has earned him many honors for living the spirit of the common good.
