Watertown, NY – In a devastating incident that shook the community, Rusty Kitto, a 32-year-old man, lost his life in a single-vehicle accident on Thursday, October 26, 2023. The fatal crash occurred around 10:28 p.m. in the 800 block of S Massey Street. According to reports, a white 2015 Nissan Rogue traveling west on S Massey St veered off the road, colliding with mailboxes, utility poles, and eventually coming to rest on its side near the road after sliding over an embankment.
Rusty Kitto, the driver, tragically did not survive the accident. He was the son of Kevin Kitto, a Pastor at the United Methodist Church in Watertown, New York. Kevin Kitto took to social media to express the profound grief that has befallen their family. He wrote, “There are no words that can express how deeply we are hurting; in an instant a bride has become a widow, parents with three sons are left with two who miss their brother, a son is left without a father, grandparents with one less grandson, aunts and uncles along with cousins who have an empty space at family gatherings. In an instant a friend to all and a man who would always lend a helping hand or the shirt off his back is gone. In an instant many hearts have broken open and now are barren of the love which once flowed freely to everyone he knew.”
