Manchester, TN – Tragedy struck near a Manchester hotel on Friday afternoon when a heated argument escalated into a fatal shooting, as reported by the Manchester Police Department.
The distressing incident unfolded around 2 p.m. near the Ambassador Inn situated on Interstate Drive, where an argument between two men quickly turned violent.
During the heated argument, one of the two drew a gun and fired at the other, resulting in a fatality at the scene, according to the police. The other man initially fled from the scene but was taken into custody by law enforcement shortly afterward.

Tauris Maymi, 30, has been charged with first-degree murder as of 6 p.m. on Friday. Manchester Police Assistant Chief Adam Floied confirmed the unfortunate death of an adult male outside the Manchester hotel, whose identity is yet to be disclosed.
“The suspect has been identified and is now in custody,” Floied stated at the scene. “This remains an ongoing and active investigation.”
The incident transpired in a room located closest to I-24 on Interstate Drive.
Floied assured that the scene is now secured, and any lockdowns have been lifted.
Director of Coffee County Schools, Dr. Charles Lawson, informed that Coffee County Raider Academy had implemented a soft lockdown, emphasizing that there were no indications of a threat to the school at any point.
