Shooting at Coastal Grand Mall today; Investigation underway

The Myrtle Beach Police Department (MBPD) is actively investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Friday night, leaving one person injured. The incident prompted a swift response from MBPD officers, who were dispatched to the Coastal Grand Mall area at 5:58 p.m. following reports of gunfire.

Residents in the vicinity can expect an increased police presence as investigations unfold, as stated by MBPD Cpl. Chris Starling. While details regarding the severity of the injury remain unclear, there was confirmed harm to one individual. The authorities have not disclosed the identity of the victim as of the time of this report.

Witnesses on the scene reported a notable presence of approximately 15 police cars near the food court parking area. At present, no arrests have been reported in connection with the incident.
