Randall James Oliveira and partner dies in Gautier MS Shooting; Murder Suicide case

In a heartbreaking incident, a Gautier woman lost her life on Sunday night after allegedly being beaten to death by her husband, who subsequently took his own life on Monday. The victims have been identified as a couple, originally from Massachusetts, who had recently relocated to Mississippi from Rhode Island. The Jackson County Coroner, Bruce Lynd Jr., confirmed that the woman succumbed to blunt force injuries.

Law enforcement officials, led by Chief David Bever of Gautier authorities, responded to a welfare report and discovered the gruesome scene at the couple’s residence in the 1700 block of Pat Drive. Upon arriving, an officer heard a gunshot after ringing the doorbell, prompting the call for additional units.

Authorities, after gaining entry into the house, found the husband, Randall James Oliveira, 55, dead in the living room from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Tragically, the lifeless body of his wife was discovered in the bathroom. The police had not received any reports of domestic violence from the residence prior to this incident.

The identities of the victims are being withheld until their next of kin have been notified. This devastating incident is currently under investigation by Gautier police as a murder-suicide case.
