Sanctions struck Pine Richland High School as the community mourns the loss of two young lives in a devastating crash.
Jonathan Tourney, a 14-year-old 9th grader and football enthusiast, tragically lost his life in a late-night crash on Irwin Road near Babcock Boulevard in McCandless, Pennsylvania. The collision involved an SUV, which lost control and collided with a tree around 3 AM. Alongside Jonathan, Taylor Orlowski, a former Pine Richland student, also succumbed to the crash.
Jonathan, an active teen known for his passion for sports, was described as a vibrant soul who cherished activities like fishing and ice skating. A fundraiser organized by Joe and Rhonda Merhaut to support Jonathan’s mother, Ellie, has remarkably surpassed its goal, reaching $82,000 in donations to assist with funeral expenses.
Julia Lynne posted on Facebook,
“We love you Jonathan! If you haven’t already, please stop by Jonathan Tourney’s house on Anderson Rd and place a candle bag “
Taylor Orlowski, hailing from Baden, Pennsylvania, was pronounced deceased at the crash site. The tragedy took a toll on the Pine Richland community, having lost two cherished individuals.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Tourney family. ❤️ Please consider supporting the family however you can. Our community will come together as one during this difficult time🙏🏻 https://t.co/IHUV6dQfOR
