Wayzata, MN – In a heartfelt remembrance, the life of Nicholas David Jacques, fondly known as Nick, is celebrated after his unexpected passing on September 18, 2023, at the young age of 25. Nick was a cherished son, step-son, brother, great-grandson, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
Nick’s journey through education was marked by dedication and passion. He graduated from Orono High School in 2016 and went on to pursue higher education at Gustavus Adolphus College, where he not only achieved an undergraduate degree in Athletic Training but also showcased his football prowess as a part of the “Gustie” football team. Subsequently, he furthered his academic endeavors at Northwestern Health Sciences University, nearing completion of a doctorate degree in chiropractic—a testament to his commitment and drive.
Known for his exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, Nick’s love for order extended to his childhood where even his toys had a designated place. His caring nature shone through in his interactions with children, evident during his time at church camp and mission trips to Haiti. He made an impact by delivering water to those in need and contributing to building essential hydroponic gardens and fish farms.
Nick’s interests were as diverse as his personality. From a deep love for music spanning Frank Sinatra to rock and country, to a penchant for superhero movies, and a soft spot for all things Disney, he reveled in life’s experiences. Nick’s love for sports, particularly football, and outdoor activities reflected his zest for life. He cherished moments spent with family during holidays, creating lasting memories.
A man of confidence and determination, Nick will be forever remembered for his immense strength, both physically and emotionally. His affinity for cooking and competitive spirit added a dynamic dimension to his character. The loss of his bear hugs will be deeply felt, but his spirit will always reside in the hearts of those he touched.
Nick’s favorite quote by Sinatra, “I’m gonna live till I die,” epitomized his approach to life, embodying vitality and an enduring spirit that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving family, including his father Alistair Jacques (wife Karen), mother Kristin Boyle (husband Ryan), and an extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. His memory is cherished by all, and a Celebration of Life will honor him on Monday, September 25, at 6:30 PM at Wayzata Community Church, 125 Wayzata Blvd East.
