Megan Richards, who starred in BBC One’s Wanderlust, will play Poppy Proudfellow in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, a forthcoming hit series inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien’s literary series. This Friday, Prime Video’s much-anticipated adaptation of the Lord of the Rings world will premiere as an eight-episode series. The first two episodes will air at 9 p.m. ET on August 2, 2022.
According to the series’ official synopsis:
“We follow an ensemble cast of characters as they fight the re-emergence of evil in Middle-earth, beginning in a period of relative calm. These nations and personalities will leave legacies that will live on long after they are gone, from the deepest depths of the Misty Mountains to the gorgeous woods of Lindon, to the stunning island kingdom of Nmenor, to the furthest ends of the globe.”
The story will unfold over numerous seasons, documenting the Second Age, a period when Middle-earth lived in peace just before one of the greatest catastrophes swept across and inflicted havoc. The principal antagonist will be the evil Lord Sauron. That being said, meet Megan Richards, the English actress who will portray Poppy Proudfellow in The Rings of Power.

When questioned about her favorite episode of the eight-part series, Richards said,

Poppy Proudfellow is a Harfoot, one of the three hobbit species featured in the story, who appears with her closest buddy Nori (played by Markella Kavenagh).
