Born on February 23, 1993, in Waterbury, Connecticut, to Irene and Joseph LeClair, Matthew’s life journey was marked by remarkable accomplishments and a passion for both academics and athletics. He excelled academically, graduating 4th in his class from Oliver Wolcott Technical High School, where he captained sports teams and earned recognition as an All-State volleyball player. His leadership and scholarly aptitude were further recognized when he was awarded the male CIAC Scholar-Athlete honor in his senior year.

Driven by his passion for electrical engineering, Matthew pursued higher education at the University of New Haven, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. He continued his academic pursuits at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. His professional journey led him to Eversource, where he made significant contributions as the Lead Engineer in the Substation Design department.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Matthew was a devoted family man. His marriage to Jessica (Barnet) LeClair was a cherished bond that spanned over seven blissful years. Together, they built a life filled with shared experiences, from traveling and collecting mementos on vacations to enjoying the outdoors with their beloved dog, Eli. Their greatest joy was their son, Landon Matthew, who brought immeasurable happiness to Matthew’s life.
