Matty Davidson, Nashville – The University of South Florida community and beyond are mourning the loss of a beloved alumnus, Matthew “Matty” Davidson, who tragically passed away at the age of 36 on Sunday, September 10th, 2023. The news of his untimely death has left friends and family devastated.
The exact circumstances surrounding Matthew Davidson’s passing have not been disclosed to the public at the time of this report. Matthew was born on April 28th, 1987, in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, to his proud parents, Brigitte and Michael Lex Davidson.
Matthew’s childhood was spent in Juno Beach, FL, until 1996 when his family relocated to Montgomery, NJ, marking the beginning of his 4th-grade journey. After a few years, Matthew returned to his Florida roots to complete his education, ultimately earning a business degree from the University of South Florida. Subsequently, he embarked on a new adventure, living in Nashville for a remarkable seven years. During this time, he not only embraced the vibrant city but also became an active supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community.

The Celebration Ceremony for Matty will be held on Saturday, September 23 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Rainbow Room attached to Music City PrEP Clinic: 225 S 11th St Unit 101A Nashville, TN 37206. A celebration cocktail in his honor will be immediately following at Canvas. I cannot thank everyone enough for the outpouring of love you have shown”.

His legacy is survived by his mother, father, brother, and grandmother, along with numerous cherished friends and acquaintances.
