Matt Dumba lands a late strike on Joe Pavelski and is penalized 2 minutes for rough conduct.
In the opening game of the playoff series between the Dallas Stars and the Minnesota Wild, defender Matt Dumba’s strong strike on Joe Pavelski resulted in a massive hit. Pavelski went down the tunnel, but after review, Dumba was not awarded the main penalty for 5 minutes.
The hit came just after half a point of the second inning when Pavelski was checking first. Dumba performs a backstroke that causes Pavelski to fall and hit his head. He was motionless on the field for a moment before being led into the changing room by the coaches.
