Mario Dumaual passed away due to Septic Shock at the age of 65

Mario Dumaual, a respected showbiz reporter for ABS-CBN, passed away on July 5 at the age of 64. He suffered a heart attack a month earlier, which resulted in numerous health complications. Mario’s son, Miguel, had previously prayed for his father when he had a heart attack. Mario was treated at the Philippine Heart Center.

Mario Dumaual’s cause of death was septic shock, a serious condition caused by a systemic inflammatory response caused by an infection. Despite being on a ventilator and dialysis in the intensive care unit, Mario couldn’t get over complications, including a fungal infection.

At 8:01 a.m. on July 5, Mario Dumaual passed away from septic shock. His family shared the sad news through a Facebook post, mentioning that he was recovering from a heart attack and a fungal infection. Mario has been at the Philippine Heart Center for a month.

Septic shock is not usually a direct consequence of a heart attack. While a heart attack restricts blood flow to the heart muscle, septic shock occurs when an infection triggers an inflammatory response that spreads throughout the body. Bacterial infections are often associated with septic shock, although other illnesses can also cause it.

Mario Dumaual’s family confirmed his passing on Facebook, along with a tribute and photos of Mario with his loved ones. The statement revealed his battle with a fungal infection during his recovery and month-long stay at the Philippine Heart Center. The family expressed admiration for Mario’s strength and determination, but unfortunately, the infection overwhelmed his body’s ability to heal.

The statement continued, highlighting Mario’s role as a pillar of support for his family and his important contributions to entertainment journalism. They refer to his unwavering dedication as a husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his family, Mario also left a lasting mark in the field of entertainment journalism. The family announced that Mario’s awakening will take place Thursday through Sunday at the Loyola Memorial Chapels and Crematorium Commonwealth.
