News about Malcolm Scates
One of television’s most famous faces, Susan Cookson, could be leaving Emmerdale soon. Surprisingly, the soap actress was in Hollyoaks, Doctors, two episodes of Coronation Street, and four different Dales characters. Susan is currently dazzled by our screens as Wendy Posner, mother of Lee rapist Victoria Sugden. Susan is best remembered for her role as beloved Doctor Maggie Coldwell in the series Casualty from 2005 to 2009.
When Wendy first came to the village in July 2019 and began harassing Victoria, claiming she had lied about the horrific trauma at the hands of her son, she was despised by everyone in the community. .
But in recent months, after finally admitting that her son was a rapist and growing closer to Victoria and her nephew, she has undergone a personality change.
Given that she’s played four different characters over the past 20 years, Susan has actually appeared in the village before that. After that, DI Judy Dove played a much more important role in the police, appearing in seven episodes from December 2002 to January 2003.
As the mother of Callum Logan in 2015’s Corrie, Susan seemed like the right actress to portray loving mothers who blindly support their spoiled children.
Again, this isn’t the first time Susan has worked on Corrie; She starred in two episodes as Mrs. Briscoe in 1998, and then she returned as Marion Logan in 2001.
When his son Callum disappeared, Marion was very sad. She also got into a fight with Platts while trying to take her grandson Max with her and spend time with Harry, Sarah’s newborn baby. However, another actress took over the role when Marion returned in 2019 after a three-year sabbatical.
Kelly Peers, who starred in The Bill, plays Max’s grandmother, and there is no official explanation for Susan’s absence. She’s currently a full-fledged cast member, so it’s safe to assume her responsibility to Emmerdale has prevented her from returning.
Out of the limelight, Susan is married to actor Malcolm Scates, who is known to many fans for appearing in a large number of British television productions. While residing in Sheffield, the couple married in 1993 and had two children: Ruari and Dan.
Susan will have to travel 174 miles to Bristol to film the BBC medical drama and be away from her family while on the show Casualty. In an interview with The Daily Record in 2008, she said in an interview with The Daily Record in 2008 that I had to tell my children, ‘I won’t be here tomorrow morning’. I have to go back to Bristol tonight. They said, “I don’t want to,” while tears welled up in their eyes.
