Reflecting on the loss, Sean Davis, a friend of Luke’s for 13 years, compared it to losing a brother. The two met during their training at the Parks Law Enforcement Academy in 2010. Following their training and a brief period of service at Yellowstone National Park, Luke dedicated nine years to serving the Lincoln County community as a sheriff’s deputy.

According to Davis, Luke served with pride, honor, and an unwavering commitment to high moral standards. The community’s appreciation for his service was evident through the numerous first responders who escorted his body to Spokane. Davis remarked on the solidarity of the “thin blue line” in law enforcement, which has now deepened in meaning for those who knew and served with Luke.

Describing Luke as a “gentle giant,” Davis noted his selflessness and the profound void left behind in Lincoln County, among friends and family. Luke’s unique laughter and love for the outdoors were also cherished qualities that Davis plans to keep alive by living life to the fullest, in his memory.

In response to this tragic loss, Sean Davis initiated a GoFundMe campaign to support Luke Mallon’s surviving family members. In just two days, the campaign has raised over $25,000, a testament to the generosity of the community. The funds will assist Luke’s family during this difficult time as they navigate the challenges ahead.

Plans for a formal funeral service and a law enforcement memorial service, organized by Lincoln County and neighboring agencies, are in progress. The cause of Luke Mallon’s passing has not been disclosed, with LCSO and Davis refraining from commenting on the matter at this time.

The GoFundMe page created by Sean Davis seeks to honor Luke’s memory by providing financial support for his wife, Rachelle, and their two daughters, Renlee and Rayla, during this challenging period. Contributions from the community are greatly appreciated as they remember a man who served his community with pride, integrity, and honor.
