The community in Dungannon is coming together to mourn the passing of Lorna Robinson, the visionary founder of Cloughbane Farm Shop. Lorna Robinson, who devoted her life to the success of the farm shop, peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Royal Victoria Hospital, surrounded by her beloved family.
The sad news of Lorna’s passing was shared through a heartfelt Facebook post on Monday, expressing the regret at her loss and recognizing her immense contribution as the founder of Cloughbane Farm Shop. However, the specific cause of her passing has not been disclosed at this time.
Cloughbane Farm Shop shared Lorna Robinson’s death news through social media handle and wrote,
It’s with regret we are giving the news of the sad passing of Cloughbane Farm Shop’s Founder, Lorna Robinson.She passed away surrounded by her loving family.The family would like to thank the staff at Craigavon and the Royal Victoria Hospital for their efforts and excellent care. Also everyone who has reached out and supported them over the last few weeks, along with the team at Cloughbane itself through this difficult time, it is very much appreciated.
Lorna Robinson’s journey in the business world began after completing her high school education at Cookstown High School. She pursued higher education at Ulster University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Finance in 2006. Starting as a sales executive at World Books, she worked her way up to become a division manager, overseeing a team of employees, until 2009. In a significant shift, she ventured into free-range hen operations in 2009, a venture that continued to thrive.
In 2003, Lorna became one of the original members of the Tyrone farmers market, and her dedication to the farming industry was rewarded with several accolades. Notably, she received the prestigious 2013 UK Food and Farming Retail of the Year Award for farming. Lorna was known for her warm and caring nature, creating a sense of community for every customer who visited Cloughbane Farm Shop. Her genuine interest in people and engaging conversations left a lasting impression on all those she encountered.
Lorna Robinson is survived by her loving family, including her husband Sam, children Clare, Robert, and Richard, as well as grandchildren Connie, Bob, Grace, Conor, Eli, and Noah. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 1 p.m. in Sandholes Presbyterian Church, followed by a private family burial. The family has requested privacy during this time and appreciates any donations in lieu of flowers to Revive I.C.U, Royal Victoria Hospital.
The legacy of Lorna Robinson and her contributions to the community through Cloughbane Farm Shop will forever be cherished, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
