Lindsey Power and Oliver McCalmont dies in murder-suicide in Fort Collins

The Fort Collins community is reeling from the tragic loss of two individuals, Lindsey Power and Oliver McCalmont, whose lives were cut short in a devastating incident of suspected murder-suicide.

Lindsey Power, aged 39, and Oliver McCalmont, aged 42, were discovered deceased in a residence on Middlesborough Court in southeast Fort Collins on January 29. The Larimer County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that Lindsey Power’s death was a result of homicide from gunshot wounds, while Oliver McCalmont’s death has been ruled a suicide by a gunshot wound.

Authorities were initially alerted to the situation by a concerned individual who reported suspicions that someone they knew was being held against their will by their spouse. Despite efforts by law enforcement to establish communication with the occupants of the residence and assess the situation, they were unable to make contact or detect any signs of distress from outside.

Following the issuance of a search warrant, law enforcement entered the premises and made the tragic discovery of the deceased individuals, alongside a firearm.

While the investigation into this heartbreaking incident is ongoing, all evidence thus far supports the conclusion of a murder-suicide.
