Wasilla, AK – Alaska State Troopers are investigating a harrowing incident in the Mat-Su Borough, where two adults and a child were discovered deceased in what authorities suspect to be a double murder and suicide. The grim discovery unfolded just before noon on Monday at a residence in Wasilla, prompting a welfare check that led to the distressing revelation.
The deceased individuals were identified as 45-year-old Ryan Casey, his 31-year-old girlfriend Kelsey Ables, and her 7-year-old son Kason Ables. Initial findings suggest that Casey, using a firearm, tragically ended the lives of Kelsey and her son before taking his own life.
The Alaska Bureau of Investigation’s Mat-Su Major Crime Unit has taken charge of the case, emphasizing that an active and thorough investigation is underway. Troopers confirmed that next of kin have been notified, and arrangements for autopsies, conducted by the state medical examiner’s office, are forthcoming.
Cory Brignone posted on Facebook,
“Rest in peace Kel-c Smith (kelsey) and kason. You are in such a better place. You will be missed greatly. Will see you on the other side. Love you guys!”
