The post, which asked for prayers for Alfred Blackburn, Katrina’s father, contained a somber plea for justice. The family revealed that Katrina leaves behind her 9-month-old baby girl, underscoring the profound tragedy of her untimely passing.
According to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department, law enforcement responded to a report of a gunshot on Thursday, leading to the discovery of Katrina Blackburn’s lifeless body. She had suffered what appeared to be a fatal gunshot wound. The investigation that followed resulted in the arrest of James Garrett Lyon II, a 27-year-old man, who now faces charges of reckless homicide and felon in possession of a handgun.
Debra Holland Self, Katrina Blackburn’s cousin shared her sorrow in facebook post. She said:
“Asking for prayers for my cousin Alfred Blackburn in the loss of his daughter Katrina Blackburn. She leaves behind her baby girl 9 months old. She didn’t deserve this and I pray justice is served.💔”
