Jordan Costa of Mississauga dies after battling with pancreatic cancer: obituary

Mississauga – Mississauga mourns the untimely passing of Jordan Costa, a beloved figure known for his dedication to sports and his unwavering commitment to nurturing young athletes. At the age of 34, Jordan succumbed to pancreatic cancer on October 31, leaving behind cherished memories as a loving son, a supportive brother, a loyal friend, a dedicated teacher, and a hardworking teammate.

In tribute to Jordan’s enduring passion, a GoFundMe page has been established by Alexa Costa, aimed at perpetuating his legacy by supporting aspiring athletes and fostering their growth. This initiative seeks to uphold Jordan’s spirit and enthusiasm for sports, serving as a testament to his profound impact on the sporting community.

M De Lourdes Leal posted on Facebook,

“This is my 34 yr old cousin Jordan, an incredible human being, who passed away from pancreatic cancer earlier this week. One of Jordans’ wishes was to start this scholarship in his memory. Forever in our hearts, you will never be forgotten Jordan “

Additionally, a scholarship program in Jordan’s name has been inaugurated at St. Aloysius Gonzaga, his former high school. The scholarship, spanning over ten academic years, will provide financial aid to student athletes pursuing higher education. Valued at $2,000, the scholarship will be awarded annually to one male and one female student-athlete, reflecting the values that Jordan believed were integral to the success of a student athlete.

To commemorate his life and legacy, a Church Service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Merciful Redeemer Parish, followed by a Celebration of Life from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM at St. Aloysius Gonzaga S.S. Jordan’s lasting impact on the lives of those he touched will continue to resonate throughout the community for years to come.
