Jordan Costa obituary: Young teacher & coach passes away after battling pancreatic cancer

Mississauga, Ontario – The community of Mississauga is mourning the loss of Jordan Costa, a beloved son, brother, friend, teammate, and dedicated teacher, who passed away on Tuesday, October 31, after bravely battling pancreatic cancer. At just 34 years old, Jordan’s untimely departure has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him.

Despite his young age, Jordan Costa made a significant impact on those around him. Known for his passion for sports and his commitment to mentoring younger players, he inspired many with his dedication and kindness. In his honor, a GoFundMe page has been established by Alexa Costa, recognizing Jordan’s love for sports and his unwavering dedication to nurturing young talents.

Additionally, a scholarship has been created in Jordan’s name at his alma mater, St. Aloysius Gonzaga High School, aimed at providing financial assistance to student athletes pursuing higher education. The scholarship, totaling $2,000 each, will be awarded annually for the next ten academic years, honoring Jordan’s legacy and commitment to student athletes.

So today I feel extremely angry! This shit is not fair😭💔 why did he have to take my son! I know it’s not right but I’m so mad in this moment. My son had his whole life ahead of him. There’s so much I didn’t get to share with him. People really have no idea what Jordan Costa meant to his family!

Although Jordan’s time with the community was tragically brief, his impact and the legacy he leaves behind will endure for years to come. To celebrate his life, a Church Service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Merciful Redeemer Parish, located at 2775 Erin Centre Blvd, Mississauga, ON L5M 5W2. Following the service, a Celebration of Life will take place from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School, located at 2800 Erin Centre Blvd, Mississauga, ON L5M 6R5.
