Manitowoc, Wisconsin – The tight-knit community at Manitowoc Lincoln High School is in mourning following the recent passing of one of their beloved teachers, John Ricke. John Ricke, a passionate social studies teacher at Lincoln High School, was known for his unwavering dedication to his students and his commitment to promoting peace and generosity. Lincoln High School, located in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, is a public institution that serves both the city and its surrounding suburbs. With an enrollment of approximately 1,200 students, the school offers education for grades 9 through 12. The school building, designed by Perkins, Fellows & Hamilton of Chicago, features a campus layout created by Jens Jensen and was constructed in 1923. Nestled near the picturesque Lake Michigan on Roeff’s Hill, the school stands on 19 acres of land.

The school’s colors are white and red, and while officially known as the “Shipbuilders,” the nickname “Ships” is the one most commonly used by the community.
