Jessica Taleff dies, husband ‘Galen Taleff’ injured in motorcycle accident in West Chester, Samuel Ankrah arrested

Cincinnati, Ohio is in mourning as the community comes to terms with the tragic loss of beloved mother and wife, Jessica Taleff. On Sunday, September 10, 2023, the life of this vibrant individual was cut short in a deadly motorcycle accident that occurred in West Chester.

The incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday morning, approximately at 2 a.m., on State Route 747 near Duff Drive in West Chester. This unfortunate incident involved a motorcycle and a Mazda, and it prompted the immediate response of the Butler County Coroner.

Jessica Taleff was identified as the passenger on the motorcycle, while the operator’s identity remains undisclosed, likely due to their hospitalization. It’s important to note that both occupants of the motorcycle were wearing helmets at the time of the collision, emphasizing their commitment to safety.

The driver of the Mazda, Samuel Ankrah, a 38-year-old individual, has been apprehended and is now facing serious charges, including aggravated vehicular homicide and driving under the influence. Presently, Ankrah is in custody at the Butler County Jail. Law enforcement authorities have stressed that their investigation is ongoing, leaving the possibility of additional charges emerging as the inquiry progresses.

The tragedy unfolded as Jessica Taleff, 27, was riding on the back of the motorcycle when an intoxicated driver rear-ended them. The collision occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Ohio 747 near Duff Drive, according to the West Chester police. The driver of the Harley Davidson motorcycle remains hospitalized, and as of now, their name has not been released.

The investigation into the crash has revealed that Taleff and the driver were traveling southbound when they were struck from behind by the Mazda driven by Samuel Ankrah. In addition to the charges of driving under the influence and aggravated vehicular homicide, Ankrah is also facing allegations of not stopping after the accident and other traffic violations. Furthermore, it has been reported that Ankrah was found in possession of drugs.
