Jeremy’s wife, Gwen Feldman, revealed that the cause of his passing was complications from primary progressive aphasia frontotemporal dementia.

Though the idea of a best-selling chess author may seem surprising, Jeremy Silman’s books consistently dominated Amazon’s list of best-selling chess books. He authored over a dozen books, many of which he revised and updated multiple times, and co-wrote several more. His books have collectively sold over half a million copies in the United States alone, and some of his popular works have been translated into French and German.
